Hillary Kirk BFA; is based in Saskatoon Saskatchewan where she works as an artist and soon to be educator. As an artist, she mainly practices photography (digital and film) but is also interested and practices in the areas of sculpture, installation, and historical photographic processing. The environment is a huge part of her art practice because it inspires her to create, develop, and integrate her love for the outdoors as well as her passion for environmental concerns into her artwork. Her work showcases her love to explore the environment and her desire to share that love with her viewers. As an educator she includes all of these values and beliefs into her teaching practice. She hopes that through her teaching she continues to grow and learn from her students and much as they grow and learn from her. She believes in the power of Holistic, Inquiry, and Place-based teaching and aspires to be an educator who uses these methods with her students. Art education is an extremely important part of a child's development in the education system and Hillary will continue to be an advocate for the Arts.
